Clear is a member-owned cooperative building financial infrastructure that connects savings, credit, and ownership — on rails we operate ourselves.
We're designing this to be useful for everyday people, local businesses, and developers, not just crypto-native teams.
Turning renters into owners. Stop Renting. Start Owning. Take the Clear path.
Before anyone owns a home, they need a way to build credit and savings that doesn't work against them. So the first thing we're putting in front of real people is credit at the counter of local businesses.
A customer finances a repair, a treatment, or a purchase over a few cycles — no credit check — and the shop is paid on ordinary commercial terms. The customer's repayments build savings and equity credits that count toward a home. The shop pays less than card processing and bears no default risk.
What that looks like in practice:
- For members — savings-backed credit that costs nothing, term plans for larger purchases, and a card that spends cash before it spends credit
- For merchants — a browser-based counter app, net-30 payouts, no setup fee, no hardware, no exclusivity
- For both — partner membership in the cooperative, one member one vote
We're signing our first founding merchant partners in the Inland Empire now. If you run a business where customers regularly face a bill they'd rather spread out — auto repair, dental, veterinary, trades, appliances — get in touch.
The primitives that make the above work, built to be reused rather than rebuilt per product.
- Clear Savings (ESA) — equity-oriented savings that back a member's own credit line
- Clear Credit — a waterfall that spends the cheapest source first: savings-backed at no cost, then asset-backed, then income-backed
- Clear Cash™ and partner credit — fixed-term plans, priced per cycle on the declining balance
- Clear USD (
$CLRUSD) — programmable settlement between members, merchants, and the co-op - Clear Assurance — reserve and loss-absorption mechanics sized against real exposure, not total credit outstanding
Real-world assets on-chain, with legal-grade ownership records and programmable behaviour.
- Deeds and titles represented through protocol contracts
- Asset lifecycle tracking from issuance through transfer
- Programmable ownership logic for resale, permissions, and value-sharing
- Clear Equity (ELPA) — the ownership path itself, unlocked by equity credits earned through saving
Real intentions, not current capability. We would rather say so than imply otherwise.
- Clear Tag Network — RFID and microchip tags embedded in physical goods, for authenticity, provenance, resale control, and loyalty. Designed; not yet built. It comes after the merchant corridor is standing on its own.
- A home chain — a unified environment for financial, ownership, and item-identity rails. Further out, and not being worked on today.
- Members — build savings and credit at the same time, and reach ownership through both
- Local businesses — offer financing without underwriting risk, and join the co-op that runs it
- Developers — build against open, composable protocol components
- Cooperators — one member, one vote, including the businesses in the network
- Protocol-Contracts — core contracts, protocol logic, deployment tooling
- Protocol-Interface — white-label interface and frontend system
- ProtocolSDK — TypeScript SDK for integrations
- Protocol-Agreements — the legal layer, aligned with protocol workflows
- clearpath-website — marketing site
- Posts — ecosystem ideas and long-form writing
Alpha, active build. Contracts are being reworked on the dev branch of Protocol-Contracts. Member and merchant applications are in design and early implementation. Interfaces and modules will keep changing as we ship.
We are a small team and we are hiring, informally and formally. If cooperative finance, on-chain credit, or getting real money moving for real people is your thing, we would like to hear from you.
